Call for Resumes: Freddie Mac Seeks Recent Autistic College Grads

Freddie Mac, a leading mortgage finance company, is partnering with the Autistic Self Advocacy Network to fill two paid summer internship opportunities for college graduates or graduating seniors on the Autism Spectrum who are able to relocate to McLean, VA. Graduates who are entering a part-time master’s program in Fall 2015 are also welcome to apply.

Requirements for Applicants:

Must identify as being on the Autism Spectrum.
–Should be college graduates or graduating seniors in the DC metropolitan area (Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia) and Delaware.
–Should have a background in finance/accounting and/or quantitative field (mathematics, statistics, engineering)
–Must be willing to work from Freddie Mac’s headquarters in McLean, Virginia for 16 weeks

Intern Job Title # 1: Intern Analyst, Economic Capital

Department: Risk Based Capital and Performance Metrics

Job Duties/Key Responsibilities:

Study public financial reports of global bank and insurance companies and summarize capital related practices

Support completion of model changes through testing of impact of code changes

Support drafting of documentation and consolidation of technical documents

Provide support to lead analyst/manager in ad hoc analyses

Special Projects:

Become familiar with principles of global capital regulation of financial companies through reading material and asking the team questions

Expand knowledge of quantitative techniques around capital

Desired Skill Set/Educational Background/Experience:

Completed undergraduate courses in finance/accounting and/or quantitative field (mathematics, statistics, engineering)

Knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Detail oriented and ability to see patterns

Undergraduate courses on quantitative finance, fixed income, and/or computing preferred but not required


Intern Job Title # 2: IT Intern

Division/Department: IT/Enterprise Platforms & Architecture

Intern Job Title: IT Intern

Job Description:

The intern will be a part of the Enterprise Platforms & Architecture department within IT. They will provide department operations through reporting, ongoing activities and ad-hoc requests.

Job Functions:

Produce various departmental reports such as: Weekly Permit Report, Weekly Resource Management Report and Weekly Pipeline Reports

Support Architecture Document migration from ClearCase to SharePoint

Scorecard Metric Tracking

Quality checking Architecture Levels of Effort (LOE’s) and entering them into a project engagement tool

Maintain the Enterprise Platforms & Architecture Reporting and Leadership calendars

Support CW Management activities for the department, including processing External Labor Forms, updating Fieldglass with new expiration dates and working with CW Operations as needed.

Basic Requirements:

Experience creating reports with Microsoft Excel and VBA

Practical knowledge of SharePoint 2010/2013 development and governance best practices

Ability to multi-task and be a self-starter

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of Freddie Mac’s mission and business

Familiarity with APMS/Troux

Proficient with Fieldglass

Typical Day:

Run reports to support the IT Intake Debrief

Run Resource Management Reports

Run Pipeline Report

Completed SharePoint development request(s)

Submit ELF to onboard new CWs or to extend existing CWs

Other ad-hoc requests as assigned

Metric Creation & Report Development
